Happy Thanksgiving!
My family and I actually skipped the turkey today; we had roast chicken instead. xD We decided that after years of cooking up turkey and hardly eating any of it (since none of us are big fans of turkey), we'd just go with something we liked. It felt a little strange, but we had all the other foods that're usual for us - stuffing (with Italian bread and prosciutto and cheese in it!), corn, yams with melted marshmellows, cranberry sauce, crescent rolls, potato croquets - and I made a pumpkin pie for dessert.
Thanksgiving's a pretty important holiday for my family. Oddly enough, my sister and I are direct descendants of one of the Mayflower pilgrims through our father's side, something like the 11th or 12th generation. We have the lineage all written out and verified, but I never remember what the exact number is. So~o, one of my many-times-great grandfathers was one of the few piligrims lucky enough to survive the first winter, and thank anything he did, because otherwise I wouldn't be here.
... Apparently, neither would Richard Gere or Dick Van Dyke. ^^'
